Ultrafast Surface Dynamics (USD) is a biannual international conference
and the main place for informal, scientific exchange in the field of
ultrafast dynamics at surfaces and interfaces.
Previous meetings were held at
Scope
One of the central goals of surface science is to develop a microscopic understanding
of elementary steps in surface reactions. The dynamics of such elementary
processes occur on a femtosecond time scale and are governed by ultrafast
electronic and vibrational energy transfer and relaxation processes. The
objective of this symposium is to discuss recent experimental and theoretical
advances in the analysis of ultrafast surface processes.
Special emphasis will be on the following topics:
Electronic energy transfer
Vibrational energy transfer
Coherent phenomena
Wave-packet dynamics
Laser-induced photochemical reactions
Spin-dependent dynamics and ultrafast magnetization
Advances in ultrafast surface spectroscopies
