Over the last years the development in ultrafast science has created the possibility to produce attosecond laser pulses (1 as = 10-18 s) by high harmonic generation (HHG) and enable exciting new opportunities to study electronic processes. With these short pulses it becomes now possible to study electronic dynamics on its natural attosecond timescale. In this project we want to investigate time-resolved attosecond electron dynamics in small to medium sized molecules by bringing together new experimental techniques:
- Carrier envelope phase (CEP) stable laser pulses with high repetition rate up to Mhz
- HHG in plasmonic nano structures
- Photo electron photo ion coincidence (PEPICO) technique with momentum analysis
This is a new project which has started January 2011.
Project pages are presently under construction.
