At the Max Born Institut the recommendations for good scientific practice of the German Research Association (DFG) are followed (see also there).

Specifically, all members of staff of the MBI are obliged to act according to the binding guide lines for good scientific practice of the MBI. In the case of serious doubts about good scientific conduct the corresponding rules of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. are applied.

In the case of alleged irregularities and dissent about the behaviour of individuals which might be attibuted to scientific misconduct it is possible to consult the elected Ombudsperson of the Max Born Institute, Dr. Wilhelm Becker, House B, Room 3.9, Tel. 1372, or in case of absence his deputy , Dr. Horst Rottke, House B, Room 2.11, Tel. 1370.
