Salary:	Payment according to the German salary rules for the public service (TVöD).
Duration:	The position is for a fixed term of two years.
Profile:	The Max-Born-Institute awards a Postdoctoral position in laser particle acceleration. The research shall focus on experimental investigations of laser driven ion and/or electron acceleration. The successful applicant will work in a team and have the opportunity to study new acceleration mechanisms as well as develop schemes for new particle or photon sources, and their applications. Participation in acquiring grants and contracts from external funding agencies is expected.
Requirements:	PhD - degree in physics or related fields. Experience in at least two of the following areas is expected: relativistic laser plasma dynamics, laser-particle acceleration, high-intensity laser technology, laser-based short-wave photon sources, non-linear optics, physics of dense plasmas, light-matter interaction at extreme intensities.
