Stellenprofil:	The Max-Born-Institute (MBI) for Nonlinear Optics and Ultrafast Spectroscopy (www.mbi-berlin.de) invites applications for the position of a Visiting Research Management Assistant for a period of up to 6 months, ending 31 December 2010. The successful candidate is expected to assist the Coordinator of an EU-financed Network of Research Infrastructures. She/he will be involved in the preparation of a major European laser infrastructure project, with partners from many European countries. Specifically, the position requires to perform background analyses on and to help develop strategy concepts for European user facilities. Analysis and development of operational and management structures, taking into account their strategic impact and potential for the European Research Area on social, environmental and economic levels will be required. In return, the position offers the opportunity to learn about large European projects, management of scientific networks, EU research infrastructures policies and strategies.
Anforderungen:	University degree, preferably in sciences. Background in lasers or laser applications is of advantage, as is professional experience in scientific administration, management or networking. Basic knowledge of the EU Framework Programme is required. Knowledge of analytic research infrastructures, preferably in the area of photons and lasers, and user operations is of advantage. Analytical and conceptual skills, good writing skills and very good knowledge of English (spoken and written) are required.
